Ann Curry

Ann Curry is an American journalist and photojournalist who has been a reporter for over 45 years focusing on the human suffering in war zones and natural disasters. Curry covered wars in Kosovo, Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry, (born November 19th, 1956 in Agana American journalist, television news reporter and anchor who was most well-known by her position as a reporter on the Today show which is a morning news program that aired on the National Broadcasting Co. (NBC). Curry is known for reporting human-rights crises as well as natural disasters which are particularly prevalent in countries who have been ravaged by the war. Curry was born in Japan and was born to an Japanese mother. Her father was an U.S. Navy sailor. They met during the time her father was in Japan in the aftermath of World War II. Her father served serving in the military, and her family moved around a lot. Curry went to high school in the city of Ashland, Oregon. Curry graduated from high school in 1978 and earned an undergraduate degree in journalism in the University of Oregon. Curry graduated in Ashland secondary school. She was on the path to an enviable career after she began her broadcasting career by working as an intern for KTVL Channel 10 in Medford Oregon. She later became the first female news reporter for the station, at the age of 22. Then, she was anchor/reporter for KGW which was located in Portland Oregon. Then she returned in Los Angeles four years later working as a journalist at KCBS TV. The station won the award of two Emmy Awards during the six years that she worked for this station.
